It is a place you can go and talk and get help and support, talk to others that are in the same boat as you and you can chat with them and the Volunteers and have a cuppa. As a single parent it is also very helpful to be able to get food when there isn't much left after I pay the huge rent that I have to pay. I also have learned some cheap and tasty recipes that I can feed myself and my child.
